Our handpicked ensemble of incredible talent features our very own Nova Scotia visionary Colin Cook, the homegrown offerings of our Eastern Shores Gloria Chaisson and Katherine Chaisson, and the International flair of Sienna Smith, who brings to us a touch of Britain's artistic offerings!
Colin Cook
RESIDENT ARTIST
Colin Cook is the creative heart of The Hidden Gallery.
Originally hailing from Nova Scotia, Colin has dedicated his life to honing his craft as an artist and has created countless artworks over the years, from large-scale murals to airbrushed antique vehicles, to hundreds of abstract and impressionist paintings and thousands of graphic designs.
His work is known for its vibrant colour palette, as well as its emotional depth, and although his lighthouses and hummingbirds are fan favourites, he is most inspired by the beauty of the human form, and prefers to paint whimsical abstract figures in forms of ecstatic dance
In addition to his paintings, Colin is passionate about live art performances. He often paints on stage during live events.
The Hidden Gallery is thrilled to host Colin as Artist in Residence, where he is scheduled to paint at his personal studio, entertaining audiences both onsite and via a live broadcast, so you can tune in to see his creation process in real time online, and be the first to grab his latest masterpiece!
His dedication to the local art scene and his collaborative spirit make him a beloved figure in the community and a driving force behind the gallery's vision.
Sienna Smith
BRITISH INTERNATIONAL
Sienna Smith brings a touch of International flair to The Hidden Gallery. Her years of travelling the world have inspired her methodology and have contributed to her diverse subject matter, bringing the shores of Britain to the Coasts of Nova Scotia.
Sienna and Colin have graced the stage together, painting live for large audiences. Her choice of colours complements each canvas she touches, leaving us waiting to see what she might create next.
Gloria Chaisson
NOVA SCOTIA ARTIST
Gloria Chaisson is a multi-talented resident of the Eastern Shores of Nova Scotia, with a lifelong career in artistic creation. As the former owner and operator of GC Signs she built a reputation for her skills in print, graphic design, murals, and sign making.
Today, Gloria channels that same creativity and precision into her fine art practice. Her work reflects a balance between technical mastery and expressive freedom, celebrating both structure and imagination.
At The Hidden Gallery, Gloria’s pieces showcase her unique ability to merge design sensibility with artistic passion, offering viewers art that is thoughtful, striking, and deeply connected to community roots.
Katherine Chaisson
Founder & Executive Director
Katherine Chaisson is a third-generation fine artist from Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia.
As Executive Director and Gallerist, she is the driving force behind The Hidden Gallery, managing all aspects of the business.
She is always busy creating, whether it be graphic design, developing a website, or working on her next acrylic on canvas.
